Using the non-HA asynchronous replication, if the iscsi mirrored target is created on SAN 1 is presented to an esxi host. If SAN 1 is the active mirror and the primary initiator of the mirror shouldn't the passive mirror be able to go offline without affecting the LUN's availability?

Actually the deduplication was done through the vmware data recovery VSA. What I ended up doing was attaching a second smaller RDM drive and copying the data over to it.

I set up a vSphere Data Recovery vm with a RDM that was way too large. I didn't realize how much space the deduplication would save, and I'd like to be able to recover some of this space. Any suggestions on how I could copy the data from this into a smaller RDM.
