Starwind Native 6 license question

Greetings,

Is there any limitation for non HA volume creation in Starwind Native?

For example, with an 8TB license, can I create a 8TB HA device, plus 4TB non HA on each node?

Thanks

Re: Failover problem after Update to v6

The policy, is about the requirements of the installation to receive support. For example Netaapp, requires the above hotfix list to be installed (the hotfixes are not available trough windows update, they need to be manually installed). Those hotfixes fix ISCSI and Cluster problems. Usually they po...

Re: Failover problem after Update to v6

It can be a Windows problem.

I think Starwind should define a policy like Ne tapp for example.

They require the following Windows Hotfixes for 2008 R2 as a startup point.

Hotfix When required Filename
2528357 Always Storport.sys
2754704 Always Mpio.sys
2684681 Always Iscsilog.dll

Re: Avoid full sync after servers location move

At the current time the most simple way to do this without synchonization is the following: - delete HA devices, do not delete .img files; - create HA devices again from existing .img files with "do not synchronize" option. This solution has one side effect - serial number of the HA devic...

Re: Avoid full sync after servers location move

Hi, Just to clarify: - There will be no data differences at all between both nodes, since the cluster service and the VM's will be turned off before the servers shutdown. - It would be very important for us to skip the full sync, since it will take many (unecessary) hours to complete, resulting in d...

Avoid full sync after servers location move

Hi,

I need to shutdown our Hyper-V native cluster, to make a physical location move.

In my previous lab tests, a full sync always occur in this scenario. Is there any way to force a fast sync instead of a full sync?

Thanks

Re: HA Storage low speed

Don't do any migrations or reboots, without updated backups of everything.

Theoretically the update should go ok without issues.

Re: HA Storage low speed

Try to change the TcpAckFrequency on the starwind machines:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2020559/en-us
(the sympton described is not the case, just follow the instructions to change TcpAckFrequency)
