I'm fairly certain it's the de-dupe that's causing this crippling slowness b/c basic .img devices perform reasonably well. Surely the engineers at Starwind know of a way to convert the advanced virtual disk type to a standard img? Even an experimental, unsupported method would be acceptable at this ...

Is it possible to disable de-dupe on a volume?

Alternatively, is it possible to convert the volume entirely so that it doesn't use dedupe?
