Asynchronous Mode NTFS / REFS / VMFS --?

I had thought I read in some Starwind documentation that Asynchronous Mode was intended only for NTFS, as of a few starwind versions ago. Is that still the case? What versions of NTFS are supported? What are the benefits/drawbacks of using this mode? What is the benefit or drawback of using Aysnchro...

Re: Access Rights Copying/Removing Multiple

So, there is no way without restarting the service. Fine.

Why did it take a week and a dosen posts to get that answer?

In the mean-time I figured out I could edit the xml if I wanted ot, but I assumed I would have to restart the service, so it doesn't solve my problem.

Re: Removing initiators (without Banning and/or multiple)

Thank you for the answers and clarifications. The answer for both of your questions is no. It is impossible to remove multiple initiator connection and it is impossible to remove one without banning it. Our software is designed to serve in well-preconfigured system, and we so no need in this. Can I...

Re: Access Rights Copying/Removing Multiple

So, can you please explain how I may delete multiple access rules now?

Also is it be possible to copy existing rules to new ones, or not?

Re: Removing initiators (without Banning and/or multiple)

I am not deleting the targets.

I am removing all the initiators which should not be connected to the target, I am keeping multiple initiators connected.

I only want to remove the initiators from hosts which have established connections to particular targets they do not need.

Re: Access Rights Copying/Removing Multiple

I can only use "Disconnect and Ban", that creates these rules; Creating rules that ban all initiators to a target does not disconnect existing sessions, only new ones are blocked. (I've responded to you in greater detail in the question I have oipen here: http://www.starwindsoftware.com/fo...

Re: Removing initiators (without Banning and/or multiple)

no, that is what I did, but it still leaves sessions in place on the target. Basically, I can create all the access rights I want, and it will have no effect on initiators which already established a connection, it only blocks new ones. I can only remove initiators which are already connected throug...

Access Rights Copying/Removing Multiple

Is there a way to do either of the following (Perhaps through scripting or editing an XML?): 1. Remove multiple access rights rules (currently I am creating hundreds when banning initiators to targets which I need to remove). 2. Copy an existing access right to a new one, so that I don't have to pr...

Removing initiators (without Banning and/or multiple)

Is there a way to remove initiaors without banning them? If not is there a way to remove and ban multiple initiators? I have targets with 30 to 40 initiators connected, I want to remove most of these. right now I can do so one at a time, I ould prefer to do so en-mass. also, currently this creates b...
