quick question: what steps are there to enable loopback acceleration? Or is this always enabled when using the latest Starwind version?

eickst, may I ask you which Raid Controller you are using?
I have an LSI 9266 with Samsung 830 that is not really performing that well.

isn't this exactly what a Deduplicated Disk is expected to do? To only save the data once?

according to the Patchnotes, the free license is limiting the cache:
2. Changes in licensing policy:
New free license:
- 2 servers and HA with limitation of 128GB. Single-node devices are not limited by storage size at all.
- Cache size per device is limited by value of 512MB.
