Re: ESXi SSD / NVME actual IOPS numbers

Is there any documentation or explanation of what has been improved? iSER would just accelerate off-node operations. Has on-node been accelerated as well?

Thanks,

Kevin

The V8 R5 is almost ready. Unfortunately, we have got some delay here because our Quality Assurance department found issues in GUI. It is currently on the fixing.
We will keep you updated.
Any update?

Re: L2 Write-back cache

Hello Mcamino It was found if you run L2 write-back cache with writes workload yours SSDs will be getting huge amount of damage. I am curious what type of risks we would have with L2 write-back cache enabled? My understanding of the process is the data is written to the SSD L2 Cache and then flushe...

SAS HBA vs. SAS RAID

I know there is a sticky about this, but it's a couple of years old now, so figured I'd ask again. Building a hyper-converged FatTwin setup from Supermicro. Initial disks are 4x Micron S630DC 800GB 12Gbs SAS SSDs per node, RAID10. They come with an onboard LSI 3008 12GB/s SAS controller. So, the que...

Re: 3-node HA and RAID0

jtmroczek, Thanks for the post. We currently only have a single 10Gbe sync channel, mainly because the R710s we use only have 2 x8 slots, and the RAID controller houses the other one. Although we will probably add them later, as the x4 slots use the x8 form factor. The other issue is how to network ...

Re: 3-node HA and RAID0

Hi Anton,

Understand the reasoning, just wondering if anyone is actually doing this in a production environment.

Thanks,

Kevin

3-node HA and RAID0

We have a 3 node license, and are building up the 3rd node to put into our current 2 node cluster. I've read that RAID 0 is recommended due to the higher degree of fault tolerance. It's anyone doing this? I get the rationale, I just have a hard time getting comfortable with it, just thinking about r...

Re: A few config questions

So, just to confirm. You don't recommend using caching at the controller level at all?

Thanks,

Kevin

A few config questions

I've been going through all the posts here, and have been using the Free Native San for a little while. I hope to build an HA/Hyper-V solution for one of our offices in the near future, with following specs: Node Systems: Dell R710, 2x E5645 6-Core, 192GB RAM Supermicro JBOD - SAS Expanders with 16 ...
