I want to migrate a Hyper-V VM to ESXi the process seems simple but I'm a little confused about that happens after I click "finish". I will run the converter locally on the VM to avoid any access issues. When I click "finish" does V2V converter power down the source VM and do a final sync? Is the destination VM powered up automatically? Is there anyway that the VM could cutover to the destination side without intervention?

The documentation is great up and until the cut over, I just do understand where I'll be when I finish.

Hi,

Welcome to StarWind Forum. V2V converter neither shuts down the source VM nor starts the destination automatically. This feature might be introduced in the future builds.

Thanks for your quick response. I guess my next question would be once I hit finish is the cutover procedure is to shutdown the source and power on the destination? That's it? Where is the final sync?

After the conversion is over, you need to manually shut down the source VM and start up the newly emmerged one.
