Welcome to StarWind Forum. What is the source disk (dynamic or fixed) and destination?

The source is fixed via USB connection the target is a local vmdk file that grows to size as needed

Just to be clear: are you converting a USB volume to a virtual one? What is the output disk? Is it fixed or dynamic?

not sure what you mean by "fixed drive" the end result has to be a vmdk file --- do you mean that the drive should be connected to the computer sata interface?

There are 2 conversion options: growable (dynamic) and fixed. See more at https://community.spiceworks.com/t/what ... 6/553727/2
