physical drive to vmdk

Hello --- I just converted a 2tb drive to a vmdk -- the drive was about 50% full --- vmdk file is around 800gb -- when go to mount it, the partition is incorrect is there a way to debug this

The source is fixed via USB connection the target is a local vmdk file that grows to size as needed

thanks for your reply --- I have a screen shot of the drive in the disk manager if you need to see what this look like

Just to be clear: are you converting a USB volume to a virtual one? What is the output disk? Is it fixed or dynamic?

yes this is a usb attached fixed drive 1 primary partition with a ntfs file system converting to a vmdk growable drive ---
here is a link to a screen shot of the disk manager --- disk4 is source and disk4 and disk6 is the mounted vmdk file

Try converting that USB to a fixed drive.

not sure what you mean by "fixed drive" the end result has to be a vmdk file --- do you mean that the drive should be connected to the computer sata interface?

No if you look at the link there are 4 partitions that map to junk windows does not even a sign a drive letter
