Good afternoon. I have tried doing a conversion from ESXi to HyperV - I have already done several, and they worked fine - some Windows 2019, a Windows 10, and a couple of Ubuntu VMs - they all worked fine, EXCEPT, for one Server 2019 VM. It ends up on a black screen with a flashing cursor and does not boot. Here is what I have tried so far:

Full V2V conversion - failed conversion (tried both with server off, and running)
Convert HDD only, and create gen 1 VM in hyperV and then add the drive as an IDE drive. This is when it boots to a black screen.

Any idea what might be wrong? Can someone point me in the right direction to troubleshoot this? It is a big VM - 500GB, so every time I do it, it takes many hours....so hoping to find a resolution soon :)

Thanks!

Welcome to StarWind Forum!
The short answer will be drivers. Try running disk2VHD inside that VM. See if that helps.
