Greetings!
I am trying to convert a RHEL8.6 VM (vmdk) to a qcow2 image using the "Local file" option and it gets converted successfully. However, when i import the qcow2 in Ubuntu 22.04 KVM hypervisor using virt-manager, the VM fails to boot and goes to recovery.
The VM starts booting and fails to identify the root disk as seen on the console. Below is the error message:
dracut warning: /dev/mapper/root does not exist
dracut warning: /dev/rhel/root does not exist
dracut warning: /dev/rhel/swap does not exist
When i mount the qcow2 image on the kvm hypervisor, i am able to see the partitions and there are no errors reported on the qcow2 image.
Has anyone tried this earlier?
Thank you!
regards,
Bhaskar
