Hi
I'm starting to migrate servers from VMWare to HyperV with the V2V software.

We have several huge servers that will take a few days to sync, so want to explore a way where I can use the Synchronization tool so hopefully I can leave the server on for the bulk of the import.

If I migrate a server without the Synchronization option ticked, it will work perfectly, but when this is ticked it will fail at the end.
I have changed the timeout on VCentre to 24 hours as I did see a post recommending this.

We don't Snapshot with VMWare automatically, but when the conversion start, it creates the snapshot.
Or am I completely misunderstanding the Synchronisation option!?

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to StarWind Forum.
Synchronization option allows for live VM conversion. The error you spotted points to the fact that taking a snapshot of the VM for live VM conversion takes a long time.

Hi Yaroslav

Thanks for your reply.
Is there any way I can check this to allow longer so it allows longer for the snapshot to create or delete.
It should only be one snapshot as we don't snapshot ourselves. (If I look after running it it hasn't deleted it)

Thanks
Tim

The snapshot should disappear after successful migration.
Try P2V from inside the VM.
