I see an option for Write-Caching in Starwind but am not sure what/when to use it? Could it speed up my SQL server IO?

Yes, the caching feature allows you to utilize your RAM for short term data storing before it is written to the disk. WB (Write-Back) cache dramatically improves performance for frequently used data. Also for long and huge writes.

Downside is unless you use HA configuration on StarWind-running machine crash you're going to have a mass grave of your data. Use caching to accelrate backup plan (or anything you could allow to fail as it's possible to re-execute this scenario) *OR* use HA caching to accelerate your production environment.

Hi, Can you explain how to switch HA write caching on? It appears to be greyed out on our build? 5.3.0.2140 and what would the repercussions be if for instance the primary node hard crashed?
Thanks

You need to apply for V5.4 beta. We've disabled cached HA for production b/c of the compatibility issues reported by some of the customers.
