ESX 4.0 cannot access starwind target on 3261

Hello Experts,

I am having a couple of esx 4.0 host and a starwind installed on server 2003.
I created a host in starwind and it shows "servername : 3261
On ESX host under configuration/storage Adapters/iSCSI software adapter properties / dynamic discovery I have added the servername:3261
After a scan nothing shows up under "devices"

On ESX host under Security profile I checked the Firewall properties and it shows "software iSCSI client" configured on port 3260
So i tried to create a Host in starwind on port 3260, but I am unable to connect and create a target using default password "root" "starwind"

How do I configure ESX host to communicate on port 3261
OR
How do I configure Starwind Host on port 3260 and connect successfully.

Please suggest.

Hi!

Ports 3261 using for management and 3260 - for service. Otherwords: 3260 is needed to connect to the targets and 3261 to connect to the hosts to manage them.

Yes, I did read about this, but still I am not able to connect, even though I added the Starwind Host with 3260 port in dynamic discovery tab.
On rescanning nothing is coming up.
any idea to troubleshoot?

Are you sure that firewalls on both sides are configured correctly?

Important notice: due to technical limitations of operating systems Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2 are not supported for High Availability targets. Additionally these operation systems have reached EOL (End Of Life) stage and general support is not provided for this OS. Therefore we don`t recommend using it, but upgrade to latest generation of Windows Server OS.

Also one little stupid doublecheck - have you created target?

I will confirm about the firewall tomorrow, n yes of course i did create a target
