Hello,

i have target, which has a "ghost session".
I mean, the server who is connecting to the target is down.
When i open the starwind console, i can see on the target a session from the server.
When i start the server (windows 2008R2) there are 2 sessions, the server can not connect to the target.
There is no MPIO, only one NIC is configured on both target server and initiator.
Is there a way to "kill" the session without killing other iscsi communications?

Thank you

Regards

Hello Marc,
Unfortunately there is no way to release a ghost session without stopping the other sessions.
As far as I know ghost sessions were not observed since 5.5 so I guess you're running one of the old StarWind versions
This means that you need to update your SAN software to the latest version in order to benefit from new features.

I think we've re-implemented this feature back in V5.8 core we'll release pretty soon. Let me check...

P.S. Just for future :)

Marc,
It's worth updating to 5.7.
5.6 had an issue with processing LUN reset commands, which could lead to incorrect session management.
