When I remove a device I still can't delete the device files (.spdata and .spmetadata).

[Window Title]
File In Use

[Main Instruction]
The action can't be completed becouse the file is opne in StarWind iSCSI SAN

[Content]
Close the file and try again.

dev03.spmetadata
Type: SPMETADATA File
Size: 6,26 GB
Data modified: 2013-03-15 20:25

[Try Again] [Cancel]

Sysinternals Process Explorer shows that StarWindService.exe (version 6.0.5189) still has a file lock on them.
Do I really need to restart the service, affecting all other devices, to delete removed devices?

Hi Dennis,
It may happen that these are flushing the metadata dumps to the disk.
There are two options -
1. Wait till the disk activity for these files goes to zero
2. Use Unlocker or a similar tool to force delete the files (not really recommended)
