I have 2 X 3TB drive that is configured in a hardware mirror configuration. I can successfully create the image file but it show a red status. The console displays the message "Failed to open image file". When the same drive is acting in a non mirrored configuration, the issue does not exists. The hard disk are Seagate ST3000DM001-9YN166. Logs entries posted below. Appreciate any feedback into this issue.

Can I ask you to doublecheck if the image file that you are trying to use is not reserve by anything else?

Update..
Issue was narrowed down to the size of the "Bytes Per Sector" For some reason when the disk are configured as RAID 1, the raid controller shows the Bytes Per Sector as 1024 compare to 512 when they are configured as independent disk. I was not able to find a way to change this in the RAID controller settings. I'm using the on-board AMD controller in the HP Proliant MicroServer. As a workaround, I use Windows to create a mirror volume using the same Seagate ST3000DM001-9YN166 hard disks, interestingly enough Windows set the Bytes Per Sector size to 512. Will need to see what the performance difference is with hardware raid vs software raid.
