Large downtime after bringing system down

We are going through power maintenance in our server room soon and to prepare for this we decided to test the Starwinds system by bringing down both nodes and then monitoring them when brought back up to see how long they would be down, the downtime was over 5 hours is there anything we would want to look into or could add to the system to try to lessen that?
