Hi Starwind Team !

Let's view on two-node HA storage cluster Virtual SAN v8 b8730, which installed on Win Server 2012R2.
HA target is used as CSV in MS Failover Cluster. All works fine, except "energy blackout".
It was clean shutdown (by signal from UPS or manual correct ending) of both two nodes.
After one of nodes started, storage is offline and claster don't work.
After another node is started, begins long process of automatic Full Sync
Can I achive just Fast Sync ?

It is Home personal usage. I exactly know startup sequence and start/stop delays between two nodes.
Formely in 2011 this "both nodes down is called a DISASTER", refer to:
Native SAN. Cluster fail after shutdown of both Nodes
With new v8 generation of you wonderful solution it is all as before ?

Thank You !

Hello

It is weird, as far as I know, you should achieve fast synchronization instead of full in case of clean shutdown.
But after both nodes started, sync has been started, your CSV device should be available.
And if you choose the device, right click on it and choose Synchronization tab, you can change synchronization priority.
With it you can achieve faster synchronization or faster clients connections.

Hello !

In same experiments I expolre, that Fast Sync used always until exist one online node. I.e among two (or three) nodes I can easy shutdown one (or two) node and after starting of it we have excellent Fast Sync !
If all nodes was cleanly shutdown, then used Full Sync.

Also I don't understand how to set in which order many HA devices (used as CSV) will start Synchronization ?

Hello
Thanks PoSaP, but in case of shutdown(even clean) both nodes full synchronization will start. It is normal behavior.
In case of synchronization properties, you can only change the synchronization priority.(Right click on the device, synchronization priority tab)
Other words you can choose faster synchronization or faster clients connections.

Thanks Dmitry and PoSaP !

I have effective HA solution (MS Failover Cluster and File Services) for inexpensive PC at Home usage !
