Hello everyone

I'm struggling to achieve data connections to vmware esxi host from San&Nas bare metal install. I have 1 san server and 2 esxi hosts have 40GB qfsp nw cards.

1 port on San qsfp card connected to esxi1 and other port on san connected to esxi2. I enabled both interfaces on san with data selection. I dont have qsfp switch so there is only chance to connect ports directly. Config is below;

San server port 1 ip: 10.0.10.11
San server port 2 ip: 10.0.10.21
Esxi1 server port 1 ip: 10.0.10.31
Esxi2 server port 1 ip: 10.0.10.41

Due to this config probably gw or routing misconfig occouring and only Esxi1 server succesfully connecting to San server. I ssh to San and ping Esxi1 successfully but Esxi2 fails. If i change Port 2 ip subnet to 10.0.11.x they can connect succesfully but i getting problems over vmotion. This is the reason i need them to use same subnet.

I tried adding routing over ssh to SAN server without entering the gateway ip to port2 but no success either.

Are there any chance achieve this configuration?

Thnaks in advance

Hi

Sorry for such a delay.
SAN & NAS is a legacy product.
Try using different subnets for ESXi 1 and 2.

I tried to have the ESXI hosts on the same network, added static routes and reconfigured the network but it still didn't work. Maybe it's really impossible. Thanks

It IS possible.
Look into your networking. please (e.g., check MTU, drivers, firewalls, etc.)
