1) Use most recent versions (3.5.4 for the StarWind and 3.6 for the StarPort).

2) Yes, it's required for internal mirroring housekeeping.

To build a mirror beetwen two server i need to install

StarWind iSCSI Target v3.5.3 (Build 20080229, Win32)

AND

StarPort v.3.5.4 (Build 0x20080111) + StarPort Driver Version 0x00030001

Without StarPort is not functioning ?

If you are creating mirror device where one of the mirros is a remote target you must install StarPort.
