Starwind very slow in Windows

Windows 2008

iSCSI initator picks up the drives alright; but when I go to disk manager to list them they are not there; I do a Rescan of the disks which takes extremely long; actually causes Windows to timeout; eventually it attaches the disks but then bringing them online takes forever; and formatting them takes even longer.

Once the drives are online HDtach reports 70mb transfer/sec which is pretty good; but I am trying to figure out why everything else seems to lag so bad?

downloaded the StarPort iniator to try and determine if it was an issue with the MS iniator; same problem.

Host running starwind is Windows 2003 R2 64-bit, all clients connecting are Win 2008

1) What's your network performance? Is it optimal? Can you do wire speed with your GbE NICs?

2) Did you tune iSCSI?

3) Do other iSCSI targets work fine on the same machine?

I did tune iSCSI according to the post on the forum, openfiler targets work fine, not sure how to test wire speed?

Use NTTcp and IPerf tools (they are free). OpenFiler is Linux stuff so it has nothing to do with your Windows configuration.
