Disk Reserved issue!

Hi,

I have installed and configured starwind on a windows 2008 r2 box and built 2 x hyper v server 2008 r2 servers and connected them.

However I'm have an issue where I can't get both to connect to the shared storage. Only one server will connect at once and now one of the servers won't connect at all say Reserved this disk is offline because of an administrator policy!

I have tried to create a cluster which failed so maybe this could have something to do with my issues. I have read on another thread that you can only connect one server to the resource at one but how can a cluster be made if one of the servers need to be off.

Any pointers was be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

Hi Warmy,

When you set up the target in StarWind, did you enable clustering? You have to specifically enable it, otherwise Starwind will only allow one initiator at a time to connect to the target.

cheers,

Aitor

it is working fine for me on Server Core 2008 R2. This link can help you http://projectdream.org/wordpress/2009/ ... lustering/

You have to make sure the MPIO is installed and enabled on your machines that connect to the targets if not then clustering will not work.

Building an MS cluster on a StarWind lun should cause no issues, however, bear in mid this post http://www.starwindsoftware.com/forums/ ... t1392.html if you are planning to make multiple concurrent iSCSI connections to the same starwind lun.
