I created a HA cluster in startwind as a test and initiated a link to it. I came in today and the cluster is out of synch already. I need to know why this is the case so it can be prevented. What logs, etc do I need to look at to determine?

Was it synchronized? If yes - this means that one, or both, nodes has failed. You can watch logs on both nodes to see when failure has occured.
