Hi everybody.
I'm trying to use starwind iscsi with a vmware vSphere infrastructure.
I'm amazed with the free tool! I tested some vSphere features like VMotion DRS and HA and I appreciate the excellent performance.
Now I wanted to learn something more about other advanced solutions, but I have first to do some questions.
First question is: do I have to use always only windows machine to present target datastore? If I need a mirroring datastore, for example, do I have to set up 2 windows machine? I remember some similar product (lefthand or datacore for example) which used a linux VSA machine to present the storage (vmdk disk).
Second question is: does the replication feature allow the integration with VMware SRM?
Thank you and sorry for the bad english ;)

Yes, for now you can use only Win machine for replication.
For now we don`t provide VmWare SRA for SRM, but we plan to release it.
And don`t worry, your English is quite well

Thank you! Someone could tell me how much (about) I have to spend in order to have starwind enterprise with mirroring and replication? I know that without mirroring and replication it cost 995$....

Unfortunately we don't provide sales quotes information in the public forum. I've replied to your registration e-mail with Sales Dept staff in %CC% so you should hear from them ASAP.

You'll be able to use Linux-based VSA (Virtual Storage Appliance) as destination for replication pretty soon.
