hello guys
in my HA set up each starwind box has a 4 port gigbit nic just for the sync
they are connected directly to each other with 4 pach cords.
in the the nic propertys i set up a TEAM with all port ports on each card the type is Static Link Aggregation.
when i do a sync it is only useing 25% or just 1000 Mbps what do i need to do to fix that?
other questions i have
i have set up 3 targets so far and bleave i have round robin mutipathing working for my esxi box.
1.where or how do i later increase the size of a virtual HA hard drive?
2.where or how to i change the cache size of said disk image
3. can you thin provition the img?

NIC teaming does not work well for iSCSI traffic with more then 2 NICs teamed (iSCSI PDU size is limited). Please stay tuned as V5.7 will have own MPIO implementation and we'll take care of multiple network interfaces (non-teamed) to aggregate bandwidth. Also V5.7 fill have final fix for 10 and 40 GbE connections used as a cross-links between HA nodes.
1) And LUN (V5.7 and up) or stop HA targets one-by-one, increase image size and apply re-sync. Grow disk on your initiator side. That's all...
2) You cannot for now. You'll have to re-create the target. Upcoming versions will have cache manager for exactly this purpose.
3) You cannot. Obviously.

If it's RAW content of all logical blocks stored one-after-another. So any virtual disk emulator (including StarPort) should work.

Anton thank you for the reply
but i am not talking about the iscsi traffic i am talking about
the sync channle if i want to use the 4 port cards in each box for sync channle how should i do it if , not useing a team?
is the sync channle iscsi too?... i guess it would be..?

hello again
i need some help i cant find one compleat install guild that covers compleatly what i want to do in DETAIL
i can not get all my paths to show up.
i need a step by step for seting up HA MPIO(mpio per box) to ESXi
each starwind box has 4 nics Just for iscsi targets, if i make a target in non HA, ESXi sees it as one path
if i set it up as HA Esxi sees it as two paths.
IN the StarWind_HA_ESX.pdf is says to put all the paths on the Same subnet
IN the StarWind_MPIO.pdf it clears says to put the paths in Diffrent SubnetsI am running out of time !, and need clear set up instructions for HA with MPIO on each box not just in totaland i still have the sync channle question to team or not? the pdf say " data synch channel redundance is required, use nic teaming" but thats all it dont not say 2 is the max like Anton so i am confused on what to do,
please let me know how i can contact someone.
BTW i have deticated SAN Switches and No Vlans

I'm talking about sync channel. Teaming more then 2 NIC is not going to help much with performance for now. It will help with redundancy of course. Upcoming V5.7 will have own MPIO so no teaming should be required at all. We'll increase both performance *and* redundancy ourself.
