Good evening.

Sorry, I do not speak English well.

We used Starwind 5.4 as the sole repository SAN. And just two server as a node Hyper-V cluster, with the support of the Cluster Shared Volume (CSV).

We try to make backups of virtual machines using the MS DPM 2010. The problem is that the DPM does not see the virtual machines themselves. (DPM agents installed on all node servers)

In Microsoft advised to contact the developers SUN.
Help please. In what may be the problem?

Start with upgrading to V5.7 as V5.4 is not up to date. Then you'll probably need hardware VSS provider which is part of V5.8 only so also subscribe for our beta program to install VSS on top of V5.7 to give it a try with DPM.

Thank you for your reply.

You mean the StarWind CDP VSS Provider?
I installed the StarWind CDP VSS Provider and run the file start_.bat. But DPM is not to see the virtual machine.

Upgrading to version 5.7 can break the repository SAN?

We mean hardware VSS provider that`ll be available in version 5.8

It will not break SAN, but you will have couple minutes of downtime if using CDP.

You mean before the release of Starwind version 5.8, the backup of virtual machines using DPM 2070 can not?
Do I understand correctly?

Creating of Snapshots from CSV is impossible until version 5.8
