In our Windows 2003 Cluster, I was not able to change the MPIO policy to Round Robin after the cluster service was started and was saying something like "Load Balance Policy is not Supported on Selected Device". I came across this solution from Microsoft and wanted to share it with others just in case someone else is experiencing the same problem.

I had to configure a persistent reservation key for the cluster as describe in the knowledge base below.

Thank you very much for sharing with us! We appreciate your help. I think your post is going to prevent somebody from developing a couple of extra gray hairs :)

P.S. It's recommended however to get rid of Windows Server 2003 and replace it with Windows Server 2008 R2 ASAP.

We are using Windows server 2008 R2 for Starwind, however we still require a few more windows 2003 servers until we migrate everything off there. Trust me we don't want to keep them:)
