iSCSI Software adapter doesn't find any devices/paths on sca

Hi,

New user to Starwind here, I read over the installation guide and also watched several videos on how to add the iSCSI target to VMware. I was able to successfully add other iSCSI targets, like a Synology iSCSI target that I have was just recently added to this same host.

I'm running StarWind 5.8.1964 on Windows 2008 R2 Storage Server. I added my target and devices. I login to my ESXI 5.0 host, go to Storage Adapters, add the IP address with port 3260 and when it scans nothing populates. I have Jumbo Frames enabled on my NIC's in ESXi, not sure if that's the issue or not as that would be one of the only things I've changed.

I have my VMkernel port added, I used the instructions below to setup - as well as the installation guide. I made sure to check my Firewall properties on ESXi and I have a check for port 3260 outgoing. I have my Windows Firewall turned off, I'm using NIC teaming on the server with Link Aggregation, Access Rights are set to All.

What am I missing? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Found the problem....gee that was quick!

So I change my NIC team name, and changed the team type a few days ago and it must have reset my network adapters to the default properties....which is disabling jumbo frames. Once I enabled Jumbo Frames on all my NIC's on the storage host....I could connect to the Starwind targets!

Ok - so that wasn't the problem.

This was....
http://www.starwindsoftware.com/forums/ ... t2587.html

We rebooted the server to just test our shutdown/power up procedures and it wouldn't connect to the LUN's. We checked and saw that the Microsoft iSCSI service was installed on there, and our issues were similar to this post in the forum.

We simply removed the Microsoft iSCSI software from Add/Remove programs, rebooted, and all was well.....just thought I'd correct what the "fix" was.
