Hello,
I have a StarWind Free installation.
There is an iSCSI Target with 500GB. As I see the file grows beyond 500GB on the StarWind Server. In some cases up to 10GB per day. What can be or how I can turn off .... At the moment the SPDATA File is 616GB
Sorry for my bad english
Greetings

Hi,
Can you please tell how much data is actually stored on DD drive? How much data are you uploading to it daily? What is sstoring on the device? What block size have you choose for the Deduplication?

Your answer explains it actually - if some data was deleted, data blocks are still there, in the DD device.
Data deletion functionality will be added in next version of StarWind that should be released next Month.

Hello,
thx for your awnser.
I understand this right?
If i delete files, the sectors will not be free so the spdata file grows for the deletet file size?

many Thanks.
If i upgrade the current version to the new one (when release) will the Spdata file shrink or must i add a new Target for the new funktion?

Our R&D just confirmed that users will have need to create new devices to have data deletion.
