Hi,
I have installed the StarWind software on a server - did not install the license file at the time (a couple of days ago). This server has been renamed and is now also a domain controller.
When I went to install the license file I noted it was trying to connect to the old server name. I removed the host computer and added the local machine as a host. Now when I try to install the license file it states it has expired.

On the second server, after naming it correctly and joining to the domain before installing the software, the installation worked first time and the license file installed ok.

I need to get the first server licensed so I can proceed with my evaluation of the software prior to purchase.
The software (StarWind) has been uninstalled and the drivers removed for the port device and then all reinstalled with no change to the error message.
please advise how I can correct this issue.
Thanks
Warren.

Just a side note, thinking back on the process, I may have tried to use the original license key file that I downloaded ages ago, which of course has naturally expired. Resetting the server date to the time of the original download fixed the issue, but of course I wanto the have the correct date on BOTH servers.

Is there any way around this please?

It's not a bug it's feature. If you did evaluate once you cannot apply prolonged key automatically (or it would be no sense in purchase - just a perpetual re-apply the new key would do the trick). What you need to do - drop a message to sales@starwindsoftware.com provinding your personal details so sales could generate a new working key for you. That's pretty much all :)
