I setup a 512GB DDdisk with 512MB Write-Back cache for testing with vSphere 5.0 & 4.1. Test was carrying out by CLONing 3 VM with total provisioning space ~160GB (20GB+80GB+60GB VMDK disk) and Everything was smooth and great.

One thing I don't understand was when I view the physical spdata & spmetadata file, it still remain as initial size and its doesn't grow??
-------------------------------------------
Directory of D:\DataStor-StarWind\SW-DedupDisk
26/11/2012 11:36 PM <DIR> .
26/11/2012 11:36 PM <DIR> ..
26/11/2012 11:36 PM 3,072 SW-DeDupVDisk.dddb
26/11/2012 11:54 PM 8,392,704 SW-DeDupVDisk.spdata
26/11/2012 11:54 PM 1,074,880,512 SW-DeDupVDisk.spmetadata
3 File(s) 1,083,276,288 bytes
-------------------------------------------
Why DD did not write to physical file/disk?? how to make it commit?
Thank you for helping.

isn't this exactly what a Deduplicated Disk is expected to do? To only save the data once?

If you had configured huge write back cache you'll have lazy writer flushing cache only after quite an inactivity time.

Hi Anton
Just wonder is there any command or any that can allow me the issue flushing and commit?..
Thanks

Also, after a target and attached device already up and run, how to re-configure the device ie, enlarge disk size, changing cache option as and example.

Regards
From iscsi newbie.

Hey, is been few days but it seem that the physical file SIZE still remain unchange? during test, 80GB VMDK data had written into it.

iSCSIStorm,
All the additional functionality like changing cache size, enlarging deduplicated device and flushing cache by command from management console will be added in future releases.

Could you please send us log files from StarWind service to support@starwindsoftware.com?
May be data is just stored in some other files or other virtual device?

I have checked the log files, can't see any errors or other suspicious staff.

172.68.2.102 and 172.68.2.103 are two servers that are joined in one cluster, is it right?
