Storage Spaces, SSDs, and Starwind

My intent is to build a server with 23x 1TB Crucial m500 SSDs hanging off of a LSI SAS 9207-8i HBA . They would go into a Windows Server 2012 server, placed into a mirror Storage Spaces configuration with 1x hot spare. No RAID involved.
First, does StarWind support putting its Virtual Hard Disk images on a Windows Server 2012 Storage Spaces backed volume? These StarWind images would be served up to VMWare vSphere 5.1 for use as datastores. File serving VMs would in turn store their data into VMDKs stored on these datastores.
Second, is there any way to retain TRIM support for the SSDs in this configuration so that the SSDs can do proper wear-leveling
