Hi Guys,

I had a drive starwind dedupe drive stop working after a server reboot so I restored the drive from backup. When trying to remount the drive I get Invalid Storage selected Error 13. I have restored drives in the past without any issue but for some reason this one I can't get working. Below is the part in the log file relating to the mounting. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bdawson,
I'm really sorry for the inconvenience caused.
I'm wondering if you ran out of space on the volume where the dd device is stored.
If so, please rename the *.spmetadata file of the device you're having trouble with and then restart the StarWind service.
After that you'll be able to get the device in RO mode.
Hope this helps

Hi Max,

No I still have over 50 GB of space on that drive. I dismounted the drive and now when I try to mount it I get invalid storage unable to find path\*.spmetadata.

Thanks

Would you be so kind to doublecheck if you pointing to the correct file, and if the file name is not misspelled.

Hi Thanks for the reply. Yes I selected the file from the browse button. So am sure the name and path are correct.
I ended up restoring the whole VM environment to try and fix the problem. It gets stuck on 99% mounting (I have left it for over 12 hours). Here is what is in the log file.

We`ve just received the logs.
You are running pretty outdated version - 5.8, while the current is 6.0.
Can I ask you to update the SAN software and see if it will help you?
Thank you

Hi Anatoly,

After 5 hours of trying it finally opened in read only format. This is perfect as I can retrieve the data.

Thanks for your help
