Dear Team,

For my practice, I am trying to configure the Virtual SAN for building a windows cluster. I am using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 for creating virtual machines an am using Windows 2003 R2 EE (32-Bit). I Installed StarWind (StartWind-V8.exe); launched the console and added the local host (127.0.0.1, port 3261). When trying to connect to this host, I am getting the below error:

StarWind Service not found on the server

I checked the services and only following startwind-related services are running:

StartWind VSS Provider Service

Could you please guide me how can I resolve this issue?

Regards,

Riaz

Any reason (other than you have it) you are using Server 2003 R2 Enterprise? http://www.starwindsoftware.com/system-requirements does not list 2003 R2. This may be the reason.

Exactly! Service would not run on a Windows Server 2003 and I'll ask engineers to make sure setup would ask for at least Windows Server 2008 R2 and would refuse to install *ANYTHING* on a Windows Server 2003 (even VSS).
