Hyper-V Virtual SAN NIC Configuration

Hi there,

I have a question about configuration network cards with virtual san on hyper-v cluster

scenario

2 hyper-v hosts 2012 R2 and installed Virtual SAN on same host
2 x 1 GB NIC onboard (Team)
2 x 10 GB NIC onbaord (Team)
4 x 1 GB NIC (Team)

Onboard Gigabit NIC is for Management, 4 x 1GB NIC is for Hyper-V Switch, 2 x 10 GB NIC for Sync/Heartbeat Starwind Virtual SAN
Can I use the 10 Gbit team for live migration / iSCSI storage for Hyper-V or is it better to use the 4 x1 Gbit Interface.

Greetings from Germany

Hey there.

Read up on this document: it includes a diagram for network setups. I don't use switches (as 10gb switches add enormous cost); and have the systems directly connected.
http://www.starwindsoftware.com/styles- ... -V_6.0.pdf

It will answer most questions; and at least provide the fundamentals for you to start from.
