Hi,

I am using Starwind 8.0 free version which I downloaded recently.

I am using it to supply shared storage for a 2-node MSCS cluster,

I rebooted the host for Startwind VSAN and I am getting the error

Code: Select all

"Device Mount failed"
in the starwinid management console. I have rebooted the host before and never had any issues.

VSAN and the 2 MSCS nodes are all hosted on windows 2008 Server (64 bit).

I have only been using Starwind for about 2 weeks now and would appreciate some pointers in troubleshooting this error.

I ahve tried running

Code: Select all

"C:\Windows\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0> device.GetPropertyValue("MountStatus")
from the stawind powershell but I'm just getting errors. I guess I need to load the relevant modules first?

I'm looking in the starwind server log and there's nothing obvious showing as to what the issue is. There are 2 other discs VSAN discs on the server and these mount ok.

Never faced such an error before. Could you provide a screenshot?

Hello!

May I ask you to provide me with next information:

1) StarWind console build and version
2) Screenshot of the issue
3) Exact configuration of your device (block size chosen/L1 cache/L2 cache/Device size and type)

Thank you.

Apologies for the delay in responding - I've been working on some other projects i.e my day job :-)

To give a full picture, the node hosting starwind is running under trial W2k8. After the trial period expires and I "re-arm" the W2k8 installation, that's when I get the device mount failed error after I reboot the node.

Errors and configuration screeenshots attached.

Thanks

I am running 8.0.8116. How do I get the latest version? When I try to download, I am directed to the screen to register but I am already registered...

Just log in on the home webpage, then click on your name at the upper right corner of the website and click "My StarWind", you will be pointed to latest build download page.

Thank you for your help, darklight.

vsan2015, do you still experience this issue after updating to the recent StarWind build?
