Confused by Virtual and Converged

I'm looking for a windows based ISCSI SAN that has High Availability (replication) Don't quite understand this whole virtual SAN but want to go to what Starwind was before all the marketing mumbo jumbo. Will be connecting WIndows, xenserver, and linux servers to this this san via ISCSI. Want the SAN to be separate from the platform that is connecting to it.

So what do I ask for when I call Starwind to get a quote?

Thanks!

Hi,
First of all I would take a first look on a few documents:
https://www.starwindsoftware.com/techni ... tarted.pdf
And if you want to use Virtual SAN, here is the Hyper-V separated:

And Xen Server:
