Best Volume/Partition Allocation for Hyper-V

I have not fired up my VSAN yet, trying to get some questions out of the way. Is it better to create a Virtual VSAN disk in Starwind for each Hyper-V virtual machine (and place each disk on its own hardware partition or volume? Or is the system resilient enough to pool Hyper-V virtual hard drives on one larger Starwind Virtual Disk. I am not sure of the net effects, limitations or risks of one virtual hard drive inside another.
What are the best options for allocating space, volumes and disks for VHDX files by balancing maximizing space, simplifying management and limiting defragmentation?
