Any benefits of more than 2 sync channels?

Hi,
I wonder how Starwind utilize the sync channels. Formerly I thought that the total utilized throughput(!) of the sync channel are more or less equal to the sum of all available sync bandwidth (assuming the sync channels have the same speed and the storage is able to handle the I/O).
But from my observations it seems that the sync channel are more used in a round robin way. E.g. the throughput of 5x 1Gb/s sync channels doesn't exceed 1Gb/s in total.
So if my observations are correct are there any benefits of more than 2 sync channels except a higher redundancy?
