Optimizing HCI with Intel Core vPro for Remote Management

Hello everyone,

I’m working on deploying Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) for a mid-sized enterprise and looking into how to integrate Intel Core m vPro technology for remote management. I’ve heard great things about Intel Core M vPro processors, especially for their remote access and security features. I’m curious if anyone has used these processors in HCI setups, particularly with StarWind Virtual SAN.

Intel Core m vPro offers secure, remote management capabilities, which could help streamline monitoring and troubleshooting for distributed HCI nodes. I’m especially interested in how well Intel Core M vPro, being more power-efficient, performs in an HCI environment. Does anyone have experience using these in edge deployments or with StarWind?

Any tips for integrating StarWind with vPro-enabled hardware to optimize management and ensure uptime would be greatly appreciated!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Welcome to StarWind Forum!
I’m experiencing some challenges in smoothly integrating StarWind Virtual SAN v8 with existing servers.
StarWind VSAN is hardware-agnostic.
Can you please explain what the issue is?
I’ve noticed occasional slowdowns when handling heavy data loads with StarWind Virtual SAN v8 on my servers.
Tell me more about the scenario (CVM, Windows-based app), hypervisor, hardware you use (storage, NICs (bandwidth, how they are connected, MTU settings)), and how exactly the problem manifests itself.
Make sure to follow deployment documentation, best practices (https://www.starwindsoftware.com/best-p ... practices/), and system requirements (https://www.starwindsoftware.com/system-requirements).
Has anyone faced issues with uptime or reliability while using StarWind Virtual SAN v8 in their servers?
VSAN, like any software, is not perfect. What makes it good is how the issues are handled :)
See release notes and keep your software up-to-date https://www.starwindsoftware.com/release-notes-build.

p.s The link you shared does not lead to a specific server.

I've used Intel Core m vPro processors in HCI environments, and they’ve been great for remote management and efficiency. Integrating with StarWind Virtual SAN has worked smoothly, especially in edge deployments. Make sure both the hardware and software are configured properly to take full advantage of vPro’s capabilities for optimal performance. Would love to hear more about your setup and experiences!

Hi,

Welcome to StarWind Forum!
I want to read more about your setup and use case. Are you using VSAN free or commercial?
