Hello, StarWind. I am using the free version of Virtual SAN Free and I find that I cannot create a LUN, what is the reason? Is there anything I need to apply for? Or does the LUN feature come at an additional cost?
I checked my free licence again to confirm that it includes the HA LUN feature, but I don't know why I can't create an HA LUN. Please, please reply to me.
I'm very sorry, I come from China. My English is very poor, so I will use Microsoft translation tools to communicate with you

Welcome to StarWind Forum.
Yes, iSCSI LUNs are available, yet you need PowerShell to create them (that part of UI is not available). Check this script out https://forums.starwindsoftware.com/vie ... ilit=HINT8

A free license does allow for the feature but not the UI.
A free license does not provide access to UI for LUN creation.
Free users have access to all other features and views of CVM. LUN creation is the key component and directly relates to StarWind VSAN service operation. LUN view is a reminiscence of a Windows-based console (bad explanation, but the main use scenario is the same). Free users cannot manage StarWind VSAN in a Windows-based console. That's why we locked only one tab there so that technically, you can set up the solution without poking much around in Linux, but you need scripts for setting up the targets.
p.s. Free, unlike any other license, allows the UI only for LUN monitoring, but not management.

To piggyback off this,

Why not create that as an option on the site for purchase?

Maybe update the documentation and make that very very clear.

The gui you guys provide is a clean experience but you’ll gain ALOT more traction if you made an option in the GUI to unlock the feature.

Especially if it’s your bread and butter.

GUI is available in trial, NFR, and commercial licenses. The first two have limited time. The latter is paid and comes with a support plan. If you do not renew the support plan, you are welcome to manage and troubleshoot the system yourself using GUI.
Free, unlike trial and NFR, can be used in production. It does not expire.
You are can find out more about licensing from the person who sent you the key.
