Hi.
I did initially set up starwind VSAN on Trial license to test it out.
When i then was satisfied and wanted to apply the free license i didn´t allow me to.
Telling me i need to setup a new one..
So, i set up a new appliance and applied the free license. All good.
I had the storage controller passed through to the first appliance vm and detached and attached it to the new vm.
I mounted everything like the old appliance and I see everything on the mounted drive, but the LUN´s i don´t know how to import.
Can someone who knows tell me how to import the LUN´s?
I rather skip importing all 50TB data from backups if i can.
Thank you.

Short recap and some system configuration you might be interested in in order to reply:
  • Running Starwind VSAN in Vmware as appliance( Ubuntu 20 ) on Vmware vSphere 8 Enterprise Plus
  • Raid controller in HBA mode and passed through to appliance.
  • All disks are seen by starwind and storage pool is imported and online.
  • Only LUN´s are missing.

Never mind. I solved it.
1. Renamed folders with img & swdsk files.
2. Created new lun´s in appliance with the same name as on the old one.
3, Delete the lun-folder and content that got created.
4. Rename the Lun folders back.
5. Restart appliance.

Good to read that you have come up with a workaround.
Please note that you cannot arm FREE Licence after the trial one without redeploying the system.
Good luck with your project! Let me know if there's anything I can help you with.
