Contact Support for SR IOV configuration

Hi All,

New to the forums but not new to StarWind.

I'm currently building out a home lab with 3 Hyper V Hosts with 3 NICs (One Realtek ((I know Realtek is yucky, but the boards are the BD-790i's from Minisforum)) and a dual port Intel 82599 10GB SFP with One port used as management and the other to be used for Sync with SR IOV enabled. The Realtek is currently being used by the internal vm's as their external network and is not shared with the host.

I saw in the documentation that additional support is required if SR IOV is enabled with an additional internal switch to be made. Does anyone have what is required for this internal switch?

I can't seem to search the forums currently to see if this has been asked before, so if it has, apologies in advance.

Cheers all,
Phalebus

Welcome to StarWind Forum!
StarWind VSAN is a hardware-agnostic solution. SR-IOV is needed only if you plan to virtualize the network adapter and use RDMA, for TCP/IP connectivity there's not so much benefit in using it.

Thanks for that Yaroslav.

So, from your reply, I take it I don't need any further networks, internal or otherwise?

Thanks,
Phalebus

For StarWind VSAN as a Windows app, you do not need internal and external Hyper-V switches.
You do not need the internal Hyper-V switch if no SR-IOV is used.
