Current Starwind server:
Version 5.2 (I know it's old...planning to upgrade soon)
4x1GigE for SAN - each with it's own IP/subnet (10.0.0.210, 10.0.1.210, 10.0.2.210, 10.0.3.210)
No Teaming enabled, 9K jumbo frames for everything
Current VM ESXi 4.1 Enterprise (3 hosts)
2x1GigE for SAN
Each physical NIC has 2 vmkernels (10.0.0.xx, 10.0.1.xx) & (10.0.2.xx, 10.0.3.xx)
Under VMware's iSCSI Initiator Dynamic Discovery I add each target (10.0.0.210, 10.0.1.210, 10.0.2.210, 10.0.3.210)
Then I have a script in /etc/rc.local/ to fix iscsi mpio 1Gig throughput limit and set the roundrobin policy.
So...
Is this technical doc still valid? http://www.starwindsoftware.com/iscsi-s ... ltipathing
What about this one? http://www.starwindsoftware.com/using-s ... esx-server
Now we are upgrading the storage server to 2x10G and VM servers from 2x1GigE to 4x1GigE
Does Starwind still need to have multiple subnets for MPIO in VMware & Multipathing in Windows?
Thanks,
Mark
