Is it possible to employ MPIO via crossover cables? each starwind san has 4 1gbe ports and a single 10gbe. Each client also have 2 spare 1gbe ports available.

Cheers

There's absolutely no problem in configuring as many MPIO links as you want. It does not matter what file system you use NTFS or whatever as it's target and initiator who resolve and process collisions and overlapped requests.
