Hi,

Since last week I believe I successfully configured Starwind 5.6.1690 on Server Core and published the target, initiated by the Starwind initiator Starport on SBS 2003 R2.

I have backed up a SLQ 2005 Std (from within SQL Server Management Studio) database to a newly created NTFS volume (fixed DDD) and also run a full backup of Exchange 2003 using ntbackup.

However, when running the built in SBS 2003 backup facility to this new volume *disaster*! The event log reports an application error generated by SQLVDI

"SQLVDI: Loc=IdentifySQLServer. Desc=Initialize. ErrorCode=(1332)No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.
. Process=5596. Thread=8632. Client. Instance=EXCLAIMER. VD=. "

The server either freezes or reboots. FATAL.

Reverting the backup to a local USB destination runs just fine.

Any thoughts, anyone?

Regards

StarWind logs to support@starwindsoftware.com account. Zipped and with detailed comments about who you are and what you do. Then we should be able to tell what's broken. Thanks!

P.S. And try using MS iSCSI initiator at least for experiments.

Based on your logs it seems you are using Deduplication device which is currently provided as experimental, could you please confirm?
I would suggest you to try the same but on Basic image device and see if the problem persist.
