I have installed StarWind Free on a Windows Server 2008 x64. the Server has two NIC's:
  • 10.0.0.1
  • 10.0.0.2
These are reserved for the iSCSI Network.

The ESX Server also has two nics with separated vswitches:
  • 10.0.0.11
  • 10.0.0.12
After adding both IP's to the ESX Software initiator it will only add one of the paths?
I think there sholud be both paths listed in the esx overview.

Configure dual networks. Something like 192.168.0.xxx and 192.168.1.yyy should work.

Ok now I have
  • 10.0.173.1
  • 10.0.174.1
but this still not works for me.

I have also done this:
...uncomment the <iScsiDiscoveryListInterfaces value=”1″/> line in the starwind.cfg file.

There is a small thing we may be missing here. Did you enable the "allow multiple concurrent iSCSI connections" checkbox when creating the target?
This should be visible in the SW management console

If clustering is off - delete the target, choose "detach device" option, then create a new target with clustering enabled, right click over the device and attach it to the new target. After that do a full rescan on the ESX hosts.

AFAIR ESX has Fixed NLB policy, which is using one path as active only. Could you switch it to Round Robin and see if it works?

Xadox, is there any chance I could hop on a remote session to your environment?
I'm usually available from 9 to 6 CET.
