Steve,
did you change default admin/password settings in .conf file? Can you quote it to us?
Thank you!

Steve,
The default username/password:
test / test
You can change them in StarWind.conf or via the StarWind GUI interface after a successful login.

I just installed Starwind (default install) on a W2K3 SP1 Enterprise server and started Starwind. When I went to connect using test/test (i haven't changed them) I get:
Cannot connect to the server:
No connection could be made becasue the target machine actively refused it.
Any ideas?

OK - apparently something else is using that port so I moved it to a port over 15000 and it seems to work fine now.

Hi,
StarWind Control port is 3261 by default (+1 of the iSCSI listener port 3260).
BTW what is the application that uses port 3261 on your machine?
Best regards,

I have the same problem, and no matter what port I try it always comes up with the same error.
I am using 2003R2 enterprise edition, if that makes any difference?

Hi,
Please check the firewall settings on the server to allow TCP/IP port 3260 for incoming connections.
Also the client's firewall must allow port 3260 for outgoing traffic.

Hi,
Firewall was off, but having turned it on and set the rule against the port and the app .exe it works fine now. Many thanks!

Thank you for the information!

Nice to know everything works fine for you now.
Actually MS firewall sucks... And the things are getting even worser with Vista. If you're interested please read this:
