I'm not using the "Create cluster wizard" because I need to put the disk images on a different drive. The basic steps I'm doing is:
  1. Create 1GB storage on SAN1 SSD via "Create device (advanced)" but leave target unassigned
  2. Create 1GB storage on SAN2 SSD via "Create device (advanced)" but leave target unassigned
  3. Right-click on the orphaned device and open replication manager
  4. Go through the process of setting up the replica
Error message as shown attached occurs at the end but the mirror does appear to have been configured:

A manual start of sync works. Will try to repeat.

Yes this is repeatable. Just gone through the same steps. It actually occurs after this step:
